Kevin Harvick, a driver who wasn’t a factor for 600 miles, won the race when Dale Earnhardt Jr. ran out of gas a half-mile from the finish line after the event went to overtime for the first time in its history
Earnhardt ran out of gas in sight of the checkered flag, breaking the hearts of fans who were certain until the last moment that Earnhardt was about to break a 104-race drought.
Instead, the dry spell reached 105 when Earnhardt coasted across the finish line in seventh place.

Windows Phone 7 To Get 500 New Features
Microsoft on Tuesday offered a preview of the first major update for Windows Phone 7, the platform the company is counting on to save it from irrelevance in the key smartphone market.
The update, for now code-named “Mango” until it officially becomes Windows Phone 7.1 when it launches in the fall, is meant to help Microsoft fulfill its mission to “redefine the smartphone,” according to Andy Lees, president of Microsoft’s Mobile Communications business, and adds a whopping 500 new features, from major improvements like multitasking to transparent back-end services.

Regan Smith Wins Darlington
Nearly three years after a NASCAR ruling denied him his first Sprint Cup victory, Regan Smith finally got the elusive win.
After staying out on old tires, Smith held off Carl Edwards to win Saturday night’s Showtime Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway in a dramatic green-white-checkered-flag finish.
Smith crossed the finish line .196 seconds ahead of runner-up Edwards. Moments later, tempers flared between drivers Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick and their crews in the aftermath of a wild wreck that brought out the final caution of the race.

Kyle Busch Wins at Richmond, 3 Spring Races in a Row
It happens every spring, Just as surely as the azaleas bloom at Augusta National, Kyle Busch celebrates his birthday with a victory at Richmond International Raceway.
That has been the case for three years, at least, after Busch, who will turn 26 on Monday, won Saturday night’s Crown Royal Presents 400 at the .75-mile track. The victory was Busch’s second in the Sprint Cup Series this season and the 21st of his career.
