Do you have an iPhone 4 or Blackberry? This week at Pwn2Own, companies were challenged to exploit everthing from web browsers to smartphones.

If you are one of the proud owners of an iPhone or Blackberry beware what you use it for, unless you want exploited. Apple’s iPhone 4 and RIM’s BlackBerry Torch 9800 both succumbed to hackers today at Pwn2Own, but two other smartphones running Android and Windows Phone 7 were unchallenged.

With 2010 being a year of the Phones (Android, iPhones, Window Phone) and the introduction of the iPad, technology took a huge leap with the capabilities of these person devices. The introduction of Apple’s iPad sailed through 2010 without much opposition as a worthy competitor from either Android or Windows camp failed to emerge.

However, 2011 will be a different year. Apple is planning on releasing the iPad2. Google has plans for the Honeycomb version of Android for the tablet market. HP has their new operating system to the tablets. So there will be more and more competition in the tablet market.

Microsoft Windows 7 Helpful Tips

Windows 7 Snap

The new Windows feature Snap is a quick new way to resize open windows, simply by dragging them to the edges of your screen.

Depending on where you drag a window, you can make it expand vertically, take up the entire screen, or appear side-by-side with another window. Snap makes reading, organizing, and comparing windows a…well, you get the picture.

You can also utiliy the “Windows Key” and the arrow keys. This is my favorite way for using the “Snap” feature.

  • “Windows Key” and Up Arrow – Snaps the open window to Full Screen
  • “Windows Key” and Down Arrow – Snaps the open window to Retore or Minimize
  • “Windows Key” and Left Arrow – Snaps the open window to the Left Half of the Screen
  • “Windows Key” and Right Arrow – Snaps the open window to the Right Half of the Screen

Microsoft today issued 12 security updates that patched 22 bugs in Windows, Internet Explorer (IE), Office and its Internet server software.

An analyst suspected that one of the dozen updates was released to prevent hackers from exploiting Windows 7 in the Pwn2Own contest slated to start in four weeks. Read the Full Story.
